Protein is easy. At the moment, I get most of mine from chicken and shakes. About 200/day in the form of chicken. Yes, I eat 2lbs of chicken a day.

You don't need 9 egg whites. That's ~30 grams of protein. You could get the same thing, with a lot more taste, with 4 or 5 whole eggs.

Drink a gallong of milk. 200+ grams of protein right there.

i'm not a fan of the word diet, I am trying to cut BF but would like to maintain weight.... But its hard, I would like to cut up...... and if I drank a whole gallon of milk my wife would kick my ass.... I have 60oz of skim milk right now a day.. and for lunch i have 2 cans of tuna or a chicken breast now.....

Grizz i don't eat the whole egg cause of the extra fat. I hve read that its the same protien amount though weather its egg white or whole egg.... Let me know....

Thanks guys, one day i'm going to get this down...

I usually take in about 250 grams of protein a day while eating at to maintain, most comes from lean meat (steak, chicken, fish) I get about 50 of it from protein drinks.

most people should be able to get around 250g pro pretty easy from whole foods.

then add in your shakes to make up any more you need.

Well, betweent he tuna and the milk, you've already had 150grams. Do you eat like a mouse the rest of the day?

No, an egg white has half the protein of a whole egg.

What's wrong with the extra fat? Fat won't hurt you. The main reason to eat "a low fat diet" is because that is the easiest way to lower calories, since fat has more than 2X the calories per gram than protein or carbs. (9 cal/g for fat and 4 cal/g for carb and pro)

And? Lactose isn't the same as sucrose anyway. Much like eating a lot of fructose won't kill you.
you are def right there and whoever wants to down 200g of lactose (sugar) can go ahead.

i would think for most people a lower GI carb would be a better choice for 200g vs a sugar.

ok i was fucking up on my tuna I was measuring wrong, it said on the label 13g i assumed it meant the whole fucking can......but its only 55g, and on the tin it say's net weight 170g Now i hope that doesn't include the can. so instead of 13g i'm taking in 85g that really helps......

sorry for the doubt there teddy bear.... I looked up whole egg 1.8oz VS. egg white 1.8oz both hard boiled and for the whole egg its 78cal 6.3g pro egg white is 17 cal 3.6g pro.

but the more I doubt you the more I learn.............. hell if I believed everything that was said on a board........ well you know........

What about raw eggs.... does anyone eat these, I'm going to try a few in my shake, also how the hell do you guys eat your oats in your shake? do you cook them first? cause that was grouse, all clumpy and shit....

I count a can of tuna as 37g. Maybe your Canadian tuna is different, though. ;)

I've eaten raw eggs before. When I was in college and protein powder wasn't dirt cheap as it is now, but eggs were $0.76 on sale for 18, I used to drink 50 of them per day.

I've never put oats in my shake, but I'm pretty sure you just throw in the raw oats.

Protien: 362.0
Carbs: 86.4
Fat: 71.2
Fiber: 7.9
Sodium: 2970.2

Bro, your chart is confusing me...How do you have 86.4 carbs and 126.2 of sugar. Sugars are carbs and if you are having that much sugar a day it's too high. Your fat is perfect. Sodium looks high although I never real count how much I have. The protein is high too...Calories look good. WE need to clean this up bro. First order of biz is why the heck are sugars and carbs a separate number? :D

I'd like to see you somewhere around this range..>This is generally where I am when beginning my contest diet:

Calories................2700-3000
Fat......................50-75g
Carbs...................175-225g(stay away from sugar)
Protein.................250-290g

1 gallon at least of water per day....

Lots of chicken, fish, and lean red meat on occasion

Lots of vegggies.

Yams, potatoes, oatmeal, brown and white rice as your carbs, even a grapefruit in the morning would be good.

Fat you will get from red meat and days you don't have red meat, have a serving of natural Peanut butter.

All that sugar and low carbs , should make you feel like your crashing during the day. Plus the protein is overloaded and excessive. Whats your goal for diet?

Ohh dam, here I thought I had it down....:)

I use a program that keeps track of everything for me. So I have no idea why sugar and carbs are seprate. I put in whats on the labels. The biggest intake of sugar looks like it comes from the milk/protien shakes and fruit.. Soduim looks like its coming from the Tuna... My goals is to fine tune my diet so that I can gain or atleast maintain what muscle I have and lose BF%
As for crashing during the day, ya I have really noticed it, i'm trying to up the carbs slowly....

I set it up to basically for 2500 cals a day and with a 60/20/20 split for protien/fat/carbs

Wow....don't know how I missed this topic - but one thing that's going to be hard (or it was for me anyway) was the maintaining the muscle while loosing BF. I had a hard time with that a few years ago - KF would know - but since you don't do much cardio like you said, that's gonna throw me another loop...let me work on what I can do for you brotha - but for now...JUICEY has it pretty damn close to what you should be doing to get you going brotha ;)

I don't know about you Grizz, but for me, too much milk and I store tons of fat. I usually only have 16oz of milk a day (some days 24oz but no more).

It does not matter to me whether I'm trying to gain or lose, I always avoid simple carbs (brown rice, brown bread, whole wheat spaghetti are my friends).

When I diet, the only thing I change is remove the milk, and reduce the carb intake to 50-60g a day.

For the protein part, it really depends on your build and metabolism. Many people put simple rules to it like 1/1.5Xlbs of protein per day, but that is to make it easier for everyone. It is enough to have as low as 0.85Xlbs for some people, but for some that is very low (around 65% of what they should consume for the optimum). You are your best advisor. I used to experiment a lot, used to keep upp'ing my calorie intake until I start noticing an alarming fat gain, then I would know that I crossed *my* line. Same for protein (for me it's around 1.2gX1lbs).

Hope that helps.
