Gas Mutiny

If everybody in America would not buy gas for just one fucking day then maybe it would send out a message. I doubt we would ever get on the same page like that though.

so if the pharma co. doubled all prices on all meds you don't think or you wouldn't want the govt to investigate to find out why the prices skyrocketed so high so fast. i mean you wouldn't bitch having to pay $150 for those blood pressure meds per week instead of only paying $75 per week because you need those right?! you would not blink an eye at it or ask one ? right? you demand them because you need them so everything is ok?
I don't demand anything. I don't even demand health insurance or "affordable" healthcare. I don't have $15,000 or insurance, so half of my bicep has been floating loose in my arm since January 24. All I've tried to do is figure out a way to pay for it.

Of course, I would bitch about it. I hate paying for anything. What it's not in my right to do is demand that the labor of another is given to me for less than he wishes to provide it. You need it. The Pharm. companies have it. If you want it, pay what they want. It's in both party's interest for a free economy. "Price gouging" can only go on for so long before no one buys and the companies have to lower prices. They set themselves.

Much the reason I think outsourcing will eventually be insourced. If no one can afford to buy anything because they don't have good jobs and good money, then the companies will have to change their policies.

What message would that be? "We'll all be buying by week's end?" LMMFAO! After 3 or more years of that bunk ass e-mail floating around, you'd think it would have been proven to be silly to everyone by now.

grizz we are just going to have to agree to disagree here. i think what they are doing is so wrong. record profits, basically doubling the price and it is all in black and white for all to see. this didn't happen to this extent with any other pres running things. i guess you prolly don't believe all the talk that bush is tied in with the oil co's? i'm done bro, you will never convince me that this isn't wrong.

This is basically what it is. I always said we live in a disguised dictatorship! People need to wake up!!! This how they control us!! Less driving , less flying, less freedom!! Keep us at home to work our 3 jobs!!
..and the root of it all is greed and power...the main mechanism for this and ultimate cause of the countries main problems...

The independent private bank that controls all of our money.....sorry I meant to say the Federal Reserve!!! There are an elite few that control everything...and they are in the middle of their
I was in the mortgage industry for 6yrs, like the gov didnt know all the owners who were on adjustable arms, now the rates are not there & people are loosing their homes. go figure.. now who owns the homes?? the banks!!

i had to pay $4.06 yesterday to fill my company issued vehicle, $98 for 24.? gals. it was only a matter of time before fuel prices caught up with everything else though. $5 for a gal of milk, christ 5lbs of protein cost me $36 at BJ's couple weeks ago. inflation has taken it's toll every where, so it should not surprise us that the cost of fuel has also gone up. i only drive when i have to now, it is the only way as a piss ant that i can protest. when the American consumer stops buying the whole world will go into recession, then OPEC can drown in their black gold.
Actually, it's not inflation that's driving the cost of fuel -- it's the cost of fuel that is driving inflation. That, and the fact that the US dollar is turning into a worthless piece of paper, which is being fueled by the Fed continuing to lower interest rates. It's a vicious cycle (no offense VC), that can only be ended by extremely high interest rates, which will be equally as painful for many. All of you with ARMs should seriously consider locking into a fixed rate mortgage over the next year -- I foresee an even larger round of forclosures coming over the next several years.

The only way to decrease prices is to decrease the demand. We (the US) rely so heavily on oil for everything. We haven't built a new nuclear power plant in over 30 years, we have a shit load of coal we aren't utilizing, our oil refineries are old and inefficient. Our leaders need to stop thinking that oil is the only way to power anything in this country or 4.00 a gallon will seem like a bargain.

lol What might've been effective or caused a shit storm is for all truckers to shut their shit down. That would force some action on the gov. whether it is right or wrong

But the one day thing by consumers would do nothing. Ok those hillbillies aren't buying on monday so we will just raise the price to nail them on tuesday:D

What would happen if consumers picked one oil company to boycott? Say no buying from BP unless their gas is 3 bucks for example. Would that have a chance in hell of forcing BP's hand. Of course this is on fair tale b/c people are too stupid to organize this

Just look at concert tickets and pro sports and movie actors. If people would refuse to go, the salaries would drop.

the reason it is wrong is b/c they are still receiving government subsidies. Now how the hell is that happening

yep the gas prices has caused the increase in food prices. Costs a lot more money to drop off those loaves of bread

the coal is going somewhere b/c non stop trains filled over the top with coal run through my town every single day. They are heading east lol!

This is my main beef. I don't understand why the alternative fuel sources weren't put into place a decade ago. Our government is so damn corrupt

Well yeah... But it would be a ton of money lost by the big oil companies if people did make a stand like that. At best the oil companies may drop the price like 25cents per gallon.

George Bush is on a mission to destroy the middle class. I think that will go down as his great success. I hate that motherfucker with a passion.

whatever they lose on the one day is made up on the next. it wouldn't affect gas at all. IN fact, if they lost money they would raise prices to make up for it loL!

The only benefit if people were able to pull it off a couple of times would be the awareness that people have some power to make an impact and possibly not use fuel for a day or whatever. That would possibly lead to more action by the people. Maybe.

Well the only other option is have at least 10 people in 10 cars all do a drive off at the same time and pull out of there like illegals crossing the border.:)

Why would it do a single thing? If everyone delays their fill up by 2 days, at the end of those 2 days, the oil companies still get 200,000,000 people filling up. It's just on one day instead of over a few.
