I am getting a Dog!!!!

I do agree that pitbulls are great dogs and they do get a bad rap. But, it really isnt always about the owner. Some people think that a dog will always turn out fine if you train them right. Thats not true. Think of it this way, each breed has certain traits that in their history has made them what they are good at....like working, herding, etc. If not carefully bred with temperment in mind, those character traits can become problems. Many of the bully breeds do have problems regardless of the owner. With that said, I will probably never own anything but the "bully" breeds....mastiffs, rotts, etc.
You are right...a part of the problem is improper breeding of dogs.

Its okay I understand that opinions are like assholes everyone has one and they are not the same....

Just so you know Juaneye....I grew up in a town called East Bethel, Maine...it is in the woods literally. Being from the woods I know all about guns how to shoot one, how to clean one hell I could probably take one apart if I had to. My first gun was my grandfathers 30-30 and it is older then me.... When I moved from Maine to Lowell, Ma I chose to leave my guns in Maine because at the time it was going to be to much of a hassel to get a gun permit in Ma when I was not yet a resident.

I choose to have a dog. I also choose to leave my guns in Maine at my parents house for the time being. Now that I am a home owner I will probably bring them down here along with a few other things I have left there. As my father would say, sometimes it is better to be prepared for anything....And believe me IF I had to I could easily put a big fat whole in someones ass or else where....

i figured being a country girl you knew firearms, an FID card is pretty easy to get. and a 20 gage pump with an 18" barrel and 00buck would be a good partner for ya to protect house and home i think. the license to carry is a pain in the ass to get, but if you go for that get the class "A" so you can have high capacity mags. a good 9mm is an excellent pistol for a woman to carry. imho

I actually used to hunt all the time until I had my first son then I stopped because it was not so easy hunting and finding a babysitter....Can you imagine me 6-7months preggers out in the woods with a 30-06!!! Dressed in Hunter orange it was pretty funny!!!!

how do you pick a good one....unless you train them personally
You find a reputable breeder that knows how to breed with good temperment. You find one where you meet the sire and the bitch and they both should be really friendly and loving. The breeder should be well aware and proud of those traits. That is the best way to go about it.

I remember when I was a kid I would go hunting with my dad and go to sleep at the bottom of the deer stand. I actually hunt regurlarly...a great way for me to deal with stress. And, long distance relationships are ok with me since it is you:D
