is it possible to have a enlarged liver if your liver enzymes are normal in your blood work. Also I thought only orals were hard on your liver, I thought injectables didnt really bother your liver--am I wrong, and while I'm asking how about test-gels, these arnt bad either are they?

Orals are subject to more metabolism by the liver and therefore have a greater effect on your system. Injectables and gels are metabolized differently (second pass metabolism) and therefore have less exposure to the liver. However, over the long term both can have adverse effects. So either is harmful long term without proper liver protection (see previous posts). You, in fact, can have an enlarged liver with normal enzymes. the enzymes are spillover from dead cells. the liver enlarges first then dies off in small doses releasing enzymes.

most of the time the symptoms are only when its too late. Digestive problems, bleeding problems, yellow skin...Again these are usually late manifestations and thats why blood work is so important. Catches things early before too late.

Sorry for bumping an old thread. Is it true that a person should limit their protein intake if they have liver concerns?
