wild ride

oh...where to start with this. okay, couple months ago i got fired from a job of 14 years with a major communication company. i of course have two wonderful little daughters and a piece of ass wife who all have certain medical issues, so the benefit package was imperative to have. we like most americans live week to week cause of the usual, mortgage, car payment, karate lessons, dance lessons, swimming lessons and so on and so forth. i got fired for a single inappropriate e-mail response to an irate customer from 2 thousand miles from me.

it seems another employee has the exact name as me and the company had set up identical email accounts for the both of us. (MFreaky knows who I really am and I don't have a very common name, so I can see him going  reading this...going 2 fucking "Buckeyes" in one world let alone one company :D ) anyway, needless to say i been on the verge of depression letting my family down.

i beat the pavement looking for work the last couple months, and of course not shit happening. finally last week i had 4 job offers from contract companies doing phone installations, i accepted the one closest to home so i could have dinner with my girls most nights. well, wouldn't you know it the company called me the other day and said they took another look at my file and decided to reinstate me and give me all my time in and back pay and full benefits.

i am very happy with the out come of this matter, it's a little more in depth then this, but would take a couple chapters to fill in the blanks. let me just say, do not underestimate the power of the pen, and write your congress reps for help if you are in the "right" of a situation. my congressman and his staff are "tits" in my book...and i love big tits. also, thank God i have the wife i do.

i am sure she wanted to choke the fuckin snot outta me, but she was very supportive and kicked me in the ass about starting my own business, or was supporting if i had to travel for a few weeks at a time to bring home the bacon. what a gal!!!

so glad i did not fuck up our relationship when i tried to years ago, i'm not sure what she saw in my half blind sorry ass...but damed glad she stuck with me. i never hit my women, but i did every other thing i could do to fuck this relationship up before we were married, and i'll be damned if she didn't stick it out with me.

sorry for the long rant folks, but i'm waiting for a call from human resources and just thought i share this with you all. especially the biggest assholes here that i like the most...cause birds of a feather flock together.

thanks, i was in a hurry. i had to go pick up my 11 yr old from school. i have to admit that i have enjoyed being around the little ones a lot more over the last couple months, but i do need to get back to work. i have not been unemployed for 22 years, so quite a shock to my routine.

me either on the luck business, if it weren't for bad luck i'd have none at all. i am still in shock about the call back to work. i told my wife to pinch me. i still say i'll believe iit when i'm back in my truck. all my buddies tell me they couldn't believe they got rid of me cause i'm the biggest company boy going.
i took my wife and kids out to dinner last night, and i'm taking them away for the weekend after the 5 year olds dance class tomorrow, man do we need a little break.

thanks guys. it was a tough couple months, they are giving me all my back pay for the last 2 months. all benefits to be restored, i got lucky with this one. it was like hitting the lottery, but i'm sure i will be on the hit list. now is the time to look for a similar job with a different company. my skill set is in demand, but always better to look for a job when working, i will have bargaining power on my side now. it sure is funny how things fall in to place all at once, things looked pretty bleak a couple weeks ago. unemployment came, 401k check, and 4 other job offers all in the same week....i think i was being tested by the big guy in the sky. i am not religious, but i am spiritual and i just kept being thankful for my beautiful wife and daughters, and my health to find work.
i took my girls away for the weekend, we went north to look at the colors of the trees. my wife stood fast beside me and propped me up when i was on the verge of depression, so i took her out and spoiled her for a few days...i'm a lucky s.o.b. to have her.
i did not want to say anything to you guys while i was down, i thought i would wait until i had good news to share. any way guys i am glad it's all behind now, i have to meet with H.R. to find out what is next tomorrow. now that i have a job and can afford food again i am back to hitting the weights, i need to gain 20 lbs back.

You are doing the right thing looking for a new job even though you got your job back. You will be walking on egg shells with your current employer, so do what's best for you and your family while you are still in the comfort of being employed.

That is great news - but do you trust them now?
not as far as i could throw them. i was always a true company boy too, the biggest according to most of my friends i work with. they were all shocked when the company sent me packing.

i was in meetings all day today, my new general manager and i have been friends for 14 years so him i trust. of course i can't forget he is still corporate though, and he has to answer to those who don't like me. they really don't like me since i sicked my congressman on them and he wields allot of power, so they need him for votes to advance their agenda. i just have to remember to not get comfortable and keep looking else where for work.

we are lucky even with the down slide of real estate we still have good equity in our home, so we can still come out about 75g's ahead when all is said and done.

I am happy for you.
It sucks looking for a job, I can relate.
i hope you find what you want soon MK. i'm going to order that workout gear we talked about when i sign off from here. i am very excited about doing squats again, today was legs day and that's all i could think about laying there on my leg press machine.
