hey guys
well more doc visits and they now want her to see a "cornea specialist" there thinking that her retna and lens might be damaged and that can be fixed. now its wait and see. 2wks and she gets the wires out of her jaw, God she cant wait for that.
Me Im just trying to get leg , arm, and shoulder stronger and as soon as Doc tells me I can get out of this chair I think things will go quicker. then I can start rehab and get back in the gym. I know it will be slow but just the freedom of getting around on my own will be huge. thanks everyone for your comments and prayers..........................11

Tell ya what its nice to hear some good news.
Good luck w/ everything and take that rehab slow because sounds like the crash was so bad your lucky to be able to take rehab.

it will be slow for sure. but at least Ill be moving forward. Im a little conserned with my wrist/thumb. I have alot of pain in my wrist even thou it wasn't broken it was bruised badly and coming back slow. right now I cant do a pouring movement with it, I can bend it but cant twist it. I believe it will come back its just very weak right now. I can really feel my leg now, Im not taking pain meds during the day so Im feeling the spot were the break is healing. after 5wks I just had to quit taking so much pain med, just at night to help with sleep. Its funny people keep saying you better take your meds
"you need them" but if they knew I used AAS theyed be all conserned about my health

Look on the bright side man...You should be good to go for hunting season,,,you got thick to help ya w/ the rehab, who some say is real good at,,,and you have us fucknuts pushing ya.it will be slow for sure. but at least Ill be moving forward. saw her retna specialist today. he looked in her eye with some equip. and did an ultrasound on her eye. he says there's alot of damage and scare tissue but is going to do surgery on 6/4. he gave us a 1 in 3 chance of saving the eye, thats better than nothing but not what I wanted to hear.
He will repair her retna and anything else he can, then remove the fluid from her eye including the blood in it and replace it with an "oil" and remove her lens. after 90days they'll go back in and replace the oil and lens. if she has any vision at all after the first surgery then the 2nd will only improve it.This is our best chance so I hope it works. Next Thursday she gets her wires out of her jaw and that will be a big improvement, she cant wait for that.
Im driving now and can lift my wheelchair with 1 hand into the back of our vehicle. driving was a worry for me just wasn't sure about the chair. now I can drive her to appts. and get some freedom back, might even go to the gym 1-2x wk ???..............................11

guys just updating. wife got wires out of jaw today, little sore and swollen but doing good. Monday she has her eye surgery, we need a miracle here. if she can get any sight back from the 1st one then there's hope for future procedures.
Tuesday I go see my ortho to get x rays and see if I can get out of this chair and start walking(God I hope so). Sunday will be 7wks and its getting old.

Wife surgery was today and went well, well as good as it could. She had a lot of damage to her retina and he was able to repair most of it. He also cleaned out scare tissue and blood and replaced the eye gel with oil to help the healing, it will stay in the eye for 3-5 months. Doc said good chance of getting partial vision back, about 2/3rds mainly lower and some straight ahead.
Considering she could lose the eye altogether this is good news. Thank you all for your prayers and comments, I will never forget it.
Tomarrow we go to see out Ortho to get xrays, Im hoping he'll let me try to start walking again, my leg feels like its ready. My left arm is giving me more trouble, my shoulder, wrist and thumb are coming back slow. need to get serious about rehabbing so hopefully he'll tell me its time.

I know we havent talked before bro as we have been on dif boards. I have been reading your situation and it hits home for me as I lost one of my best friends 3 years ago. Some old lady turned left in front of him as he was going through a green light... All of us still cant believe it, only 25. I know its hard but you got each other and a second chance. I wish you and your wife a speedy recovery and it sounds like you have the right attitude about this. You will be back in no time bro with the attitude you have!!
