Shoulder Problems "posting for a freind"

My buddy is such a hillbilly that he is still trying to figure out the internet. :D So im gona post for him till he can figures out how to get a e-maill addy. LMMFAO

Anyway he has been havig shoulder problem since he tore up his shoulder in high school football.

Here is the problem now. He is midways in a cycle and is saying that he is having deep sharp joint pains in his shoulder and when he puts his arms behind his head it gets worse and they fall asleep. The guy aint one to bitch much about pain but this sounds serious.

I told him he might wana try deca since he dont wona quit midway, but if it was me id take some time off and get another MRI. I hope its not his rotor cuff and somting like a bone spur.

Whats your guys take?
Thx in advance from Rowdey "soon to be a member when he finds out WTF a e-mail addy is" :D

It sounds a bit too serious to just carry on and hope it feels better.

If this problem has been around since High school it only makes sense
to visit the doctors and have proper testing done...

It sounds a bit too late to run deca for joint relief. Have some tests done and hopefully they will be able to solve this..

Respectfully Wylie

A break from training now is worth a lifetime of injurys.
A little rehab and medication is hopefully all he needs..

Yeah thats what i thought about it being a long term injury.
Here is the bad part, this is his first cycle and he is in his mid 30's and loving every second of it.
Hard talking reason to someone in that position.

Ive never had an injury but just bad shoulders, I did experece the same symptoms as your bro. I gave up shoulder presses and all straight bar bench presses, over two years ago and now my shoulder pain is managable with ibuprovin. And my shoulders are still in proportion with my body.

I dont know the gear recommendation, but having injuries myself i suggest going to a doctor , the medical option is the best, never know what could be going on with that shoulder.

Sounds like it could be a partial tear of the rotator cuff, bursitis (sp?) or tendonitis. Shoulder pain is a bitch to diagnose...and if you go to the doc's 9/10 times their advice will be to take time off...$$ well spent for that advice;) The fact that they fall asleep makes me think that there definitely is some swelling in the tendons of the shoulder...putting pressure on a nerve. Best thing def. would be to go to the docs and get an MRI. For now, if he keeps working out, I'd make sure to warm up with lower weights for a lot longer, warm up the rotator cuff specifically, go lower on bench and shoulder exercises...do decline and flat bench. I'd probably hold off on incline bench for a while...that puts more pressure on the shoulder.

It's tough and frustrating because if your "on" and seeing/making gains, the last thing you want to do is taper down the weights. You want to walk into the gym, grab every damn 45 lb plate and bench press a million pounds. My rotator cuff was strained about a year ago and it lasted for about 4 months...until I took off a few weeks and began concentrating on lower weights and high reps. It wasn't a bad thing...I got really good at busting a shitload of reps out at weights under 300 lbs...eventually the pain went away. Fucked up thing is that the pain was the worst when I had deca in me and the pain went away after I started using winny? Can't quite understand that one!

At the time, I was doing about 50-60 mg a day...don't quite understand how the shoulder got better. Sometimes I think people start deca, get the idea that they can bench a lot, not warm up properly, just think they are impervious to injury or pain because of the "lubricating" side of deca. I'm def. not saying the winny helped with the pain...I just think I was more conscious about the need to warm up the shoulder and rotator cuff a little more.
