Let's here what everyone is using and the advantages/disadvantages of each. I'm using bearshare right now but it's slow as hell. I've used torrents before but I don't really know how to tell if the file is good or not before downloading.

And please, keep all discussion at or near a 3rd grade level so thick can understand too.

im a torrent man. if you open up the ports on your router and configure it with azureus your downloads will go fast as hell. im usually downloading around 120kb/sec

THL, mos to the movies I've been downloading have been fast...300-400 kb/sec. The popular movies will have a lot of sources to pull from. I've used Limewire, but have terrible luck when it comes to downloading movies.

I downloaded another one today and got over 500 kb/sec so that's not too bad.

I also downloaded Nero 7 but can't for the life of me figure out how to get the AVI ripped/burned on a DVD. I didn't get a lot of time to mess with it because I had to leave for work, but I still didn't see how to do it.

Now I know how thick feels and it's not good. I'm sure once somebody explains it to me I'll be ruining DVD's just like him too.

Maybe I should just go back to renting them and burning the rental. Seems like less head aches.

didnt u follow that dvd dec/dvd shrink guide? that did it easy for me. I am pretty sure mine is a media issue

I've used P2P. Bearshare, the old Kazaa and Limewire. I prefer Torrents. Much better selection. YOu can find anything you want

THL makes a good point it's hard to tell if it's a good file or not.

As far as DL speeds. It depends on the source. I get some that are like 20kb/sec and others that range up to 500kb/sec

THL and THICK. I've had no problems burning AVI to DVD.

Pick Make your own DVD Video
Add files
follow steps
skip thourgh the menu portion of it unless you want to present it right.
Burn

I only use NERO for DL shit that i can't rent. granted i don't burn much anymore, if it's a movie i want i'll just rent the fucker and use DVD Shrink to burn it.

The only problems i've had with useing NERO is if your watching your burned copy and u want to Fastforward or rewind the action compared to the sound gets thrown off.

As for nero, that is what i am doing chopper. It worked for awhile. One guy said sony discs are hit and miss so maybe it is a media problem. I ordered good discs today. Hope it works. Would like to get it in surround sound

I found the plug in. It's only $27.99.

I might have to search bearshare though,,,,my kids are sick of my raiding their piggy banks.

1st video is burning now, minus the plug in. The only versions of the multichannel plugin that I could find were 6 and under. My receiver does a pretty good job of converting stereo sources to surround, so I'll see how that goes 1st. If the f*ker will play that is.

I don't need no stinking guides. lol

The movie works fine, other than the fact that it's only in stereo. And I only ruined 2 blanks to get a good one. I'm trying another one now to see if I can up my record to .500.
