Need help....

O.k., here is the deal. My back is fucked, its been fucked for a long long time. I have a disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis. Its an arthritic condition and thank god that I am as healthy as I am because most people end up hunched over from it.

Now my question is, I cannot do dead lifts without my back killing me, so its really frustrating and i end up not doing them. Is there any other back exercises that can strengthen the same muscles or another option would be to continue trying to do DL just go really light and work up really really slowly. When I say slowly, I mean really slowly.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I can only do 2 sets of DL's at a light weight until my lower back gives. Same thing goes for Good Mornings. I say just do 2 sets and move on to the next exercise.

Thanks J2D,
Do you recommend anything that will work the same muscles almost as effectively?

Try partials. Set the pins just below your knees. Less taxing than full Deads but still very benificial.
