my son pitched a no hitter

All stars started last week and they tabbed my son as the starting pitcher. I was nervous as hell but he tossed a no hitter and we won. He walked 3 guys so it wasn't perfect game. We won the next game as well and play tonight for the chance to move to the next round. Just thought I would share

Thats awesome! I love baseball and have played even in college (only club tho) so I understand how big of an accomplishment that is at any level. Congrats to him!

thanks. Ya i was nervous that they chose him for first game. I honestly don't want him pitching at all but he does alright. It was impressive that he shut an all star team down. They never had a hard hit all night.

Tonight he might have to pitch again. I am hoping they go with another kid who I feel is just as good. He needs some experience b/c we won't be able to keep relying on my boy and the kid who pitched the 2nd game

It seems the younger the players the more the coach wants to rely on the "hot hand." It's funny bc you're probably stressing more than he is about it. Parents want the best for their kids and it hurts just as bad for a parent to watch them struggle as it does for their children. I was always hard on myself and my parents were far less concerned but my mother would always stress out for big games....shit made me stress out haha.

I am sure if he pitches he will do well!

shit he isn't stressed at all. Little shit wants the ball every fucking time. I have always coached him and never let him pitch lol. Now the all star coach is in charge. Hope he takes care of business again. They have a really good team and a good chance at not only making state but possibly winning it. Gotta get out of this round first though. take care

Great job by your son Thick!

How is the whole All Star thing going? Any rumblings from pissed off parents because their little Johnny played short stop all season and is now playing right field??? That shit drove me crazy.

Thick, that is fucking awesome. I cant even imagine how pumped you were watching YOUR son shut that team down. Im afraid to even think about how I would react if my son was kickin ass, shit, they wouldnt be able to shut me up ! LOL

But seriously, that is pretty damn sweet. Good for you ! Give him a big punch on the shoulder and a 'great job' from all of us here at MU.

nope none of that. There are a couple of parents who think everyone should play equal and aren't happy that their kids are only getting 3 outs and an at bat.
Hell my son was SS/pitcher all season and is now the center fielder and pitcher. I have no problem with it. Our short stop is amazing and the parents all realize that.
We have the best team this area has produced probably ever and that includes a state title team. No shame in not starting. We are very solid.

In All star tourney play you have to skip a game if u pitch more than 20 pitches. So my son pitched the 1st game and had to skip the 2nd. Well he pitched the district finals and threw another no hitter. Friggin crazy. He also hit a home run and we won handily.

This one wasn't a complete game no hitter like the first b/c we got a big lead and they let another kid come in and close out the final inning.

Hope he doesnt get shelled in the next round. We play tonight and sat. He is eligible to pitch sat. I never expected 1 no hitter let alone two..

Funny thing is he was pretty wild this game. He hit two kids and walked probably 5 kids total but struck several out and got out of a bases loaded jam for the shut out.

The coach pitched him 50 pitches the night b4 for some reason so i figured he wouldn't be pitching in the game. I will have to talk to him about that and make sure it doesn't happen again though. I think that contributed to his lack of control b/c he pitched to me on Sat.

ok thought i posted already. They went with my son instead of the other kid.

If we make it to state they play 5 games in 5 days and play a 6th game if they are top 2. So we need more than just my kid and the other kid. I will have to speak with the coaches on this

Yeah, ditto that shit man!

The question is, when do you start introducing a little juice into his workout/diet program? :D You need to get him into the majors so you can be on easy street!
