Knee injury

Ok I have had a knee probelm for a couple months now....I always do heavy squats and leg presses however in the last couple months I have had to lay off a bit.{Something I can not take any longer}

Im thinking of getting both knees pumped full of cortizone....Has anyone had these shots ? and if so did they really make that big of a difference ?

Of course this would be done by a Doc and not myself....LOL.

Thanks for any responses.

Yes bro I had a bunk knee for almost a year, it killed me not being able to train. I know your frustration all too well.

Cortisone inj's are a useful tool in the treatment of many common injuries.
When not abused !!!!!!!

Cortisone hides the pain and injury though. Cortisone works by blocking the healing process, does this by not allowing the injury to send a pain signal that something is wrong and needs to be fixed.

They did make my life more comfortable and pain free, however the injury was cured by alot of rehab along w/ cortisone inj's.....

Best wishes and a speedy recovery......

Yep, just like wylie said, that would be my main concern brotha. Just be really careful with it. While the cortisone inj can help with the pain when you're training, you don't want to mask the pain to the point that you actually injure your knee worse.

I feel your pain though bro, my knees suck. LOL

Today I did 405 for 1 set of 5.....I did wrap my knees however....Also did a 1200 pound leg press for 10.

Knees seem to slowly be getting back to normal....or at least I hope so.

I've had quit a bit of those shots for my shoulder.Besides blocking the pain factor,I later found out that most of the time (in my shots)they mix in a heavy muscle relaxer.So I would ask about that bro!

Yeah man you are lucky that its not that serious because once your knee goes bad its never 100% again. You can take my word on it because both my knees are shot.

I have a knee problem for about 22 years now. When I lean out to below 8% of bf it comes back and realatively pain free when I'm around 15%.
I guess extra fat gives it a little more lubrication.
