I buy gold all day, but dont touch stones. Strictly precious metals. What kind of questions do you have?

What does it consist of? If it's diamonds, what are/is the size and do you know the clarity and color?

i bought the ring about 13 years ago. it is 14k yellow gold. the center stone is .48 ct, the stones circling the band are right around another 1/2 ct. the center stone is a princess cut, si2, and the color is rated "f". when i bought the ring it was $2400, they offering a grand trade in. i can look at new stones all day long and compare prices but i'm not sure about the used stuff.

I dont know a whole lot about stones, but I have learned some recently. If the ring was 2400 previously, that probably isnt a bad trade in price. They are going to need to make money on it, so they are going to low ball you. Consignment might be a better option or ebay, but ebay has so many different rings on there, if you dont have a GIA cert, you probably wont get much.

You probably wont get more off that ring...

My wife's cost $7k 5 years ago....we had a situation some time ago that put us out of all our cash....we freaked and even considered selling her ring...what you get for will never even close to what you pay...

The band will probably be sold by weight for very little and the rock repackaged on a new band...could sit there for months.....

$1k is not bad if you paid $2.4, you can always keep on shopping it around and see if you can get an extra hundred or two.
