What does it consist of? If it's diamonds, what are/is the size and do you know the clarity and color?looking to upgrade my wifes wedding ring and just wanna make sure i'm getting a fair price for trade in.
I dont know a whole lot about stones, but I have learned some recently. If the ring was 2400 previously, that probably isnt a bad trade in price. They are going to need to make money on it, so they are going to low ball you. Consignment might be a better option or ebay, but ebay has so many different rings on there, if you dont have a GIA cert, you probably wont get much.i bought the ring about 13 years ago. it is 14k yellow gold. the center stone is .48 ct, the stones circling the band are right around another 1/2 ct. the center stone is a princess cut, si2, and the color is rated "f". when i bought the ring it was $2400, they offering a grand trade in. i can look at new stones all day long and compare prices but i'm not sure about the used stuff.
