Okay, I've read the threads here about insulin and so on.. I read that Humulin R peaks at 2 hrs and clears about 4 hours after injection..

however, i was doing some research and came across this table ..

where it says Humulin R peaks at 2-5 hours and lasts 5-8 hours???

and then this site

I always began to feel Hum-r about 30 minutes after injection and the peak around the 2hr. mark...so I took in an initial shake, meal at the 2 hour mark and another at about the 3.5 hr mark. The injection is always IM because it is more predictable.

I have used doses from 2 to 10iu and I took blood sugar readings w/ glucometer. With the above protocol I felt it was out of my system before the 5 hour mark and I was safe to go to bed. I just made sure not to use a glucose disposal agent at bed time and also had a little food in my stomach.

Big A over at professionalmuscle prefers humulin-r and said this about the peak:

"I only like R. Second and final peak of R is about 2 hours after the shot. If you eat plenty at that 2 hour mark, you can safely go to bed after that meal."

So I think going to bed after 5 hours is plenty safe. My blood sugar readings were always stabalized well before then.

Thanks bro... now after yesterday's little episode you bet your ass i went and bought a glucometer this morning.. i think it just hit me hard at first yesterday, thats what scared me, because my head was pretty fuzzy after the inject and was for a good hour or so ... anyway...... I did triceps and a bit of chest this morning followed by 6 iu and no head fuzzyness ... feel moderate, maybe the weird feeling im getting is from the creatine coagulating with the protein in my gut... lol

I have felt humulin's effects of blood sugar dropping up to 5 plus hours after a shot. Usually though around 4 or 4.5 is when I feel it dropping for the last time. I go hypo very quickley though and I think Im a little more sensitive than most...Not MAJORLY sensitive but more than most.
