Testing gear - how to + tips

Directly from SRCS themselves
To Whom It May Concern:

Assay of steroidal components usually falls into the regular HPLC analysis
billing, which is $100.00 USD per sample. We must know the SPECIFIC
compound the sample is to analyzed for to achieve accurate test results.

However, any steroidal or pro-hormone substance that has no available
standard, such as one of the new THP ether's, the price is a minimum of
$150.00 USD for identification by LC/MS per component.

Also, if the standard for your sample is very expensive, such as
4-hydroxytestosterone, you will also be charged for all costs involved in
obtaining the standard.

As for protein-based hormones, such as somatotropin or HGH, we are unable to
analyze these at this time.

Single component steroidal compounds (oxymetholone, testosterone and its
various esters, boldenone undecylenate, etc.) are regular analyses, and
assay is $100.00 USD per sample. Blended compounds with two components are
$170.00 USD and those with four components, such as Sustanon or Omnadren are
$250.00 USD per sample.

In addition, you are required to submit guaranteed payment (i.e.
cashier's/bank check, money order, valid credit card)made payable to ' San
Rafael Chemical Services ' prior to the analysis. If paying by credit card,
please include all billing information with sample (CC number, exp. date,
name as it appears on the card and billing address). Please DO NOT send
cash.

All samples, payments and contact information need to be forwarded to this
address:

San Rafael Chemical Services
Attn: Joe Larsen
2180 E. 4500 South #125
Holladay, UT 84117

We have no preferred shipping method, although UPS, FedEx, DHL, and the USPS
are all fine choices.

Please send more than 1 gram total weight (liquid, solid, or tablet) per
sample. Typical turn-around times are 7-14 days, but no guarantee is made
without securing RUSH payment prior to analysis. Please contact us for
details.

Please include any specific instructions you feel are needed for sample
preparation and handling, as well as personal contact information (email or
fax #). If you would like a signed hardcopy of the report on a company
letterhead, please include a mailing address as well. All analytical
results will be reported as they become available via email or fax.

Our clients personal privacy is of the utmost importance to us, so rest
assured, any information regarding test results of any analysis preformed by
San Rafael Chemical Services as well as personal identification, address,
billing, etc. will remain confidential and only be disclosed to a third
party at our clients request.

Thanks to Krzna for posting this up on SurpassGenetics.

Now for my own bit:
There's a way to save a bunch of money on these tests. IF it is done right, we can test a lot more products for the same money. How? Note that SRCS charges $100 per single steroid identification, but $250 for a four product identification. Well, if we accurately mix EQUAL amounts of four different (single) steroids, we can quickly figure out if they're all good or if any of them need further investigation.

Procedure
OK, for example, let's say we've got the following products we want to test:

A. Testosterone propionate @ 200mg/ml
B. Trenbolone enanthate @ 200mg/ml
C. Nandrolone decanoate (Deca) @ 300mg/ml
D. Boldenone undecylenate (EQ) @ 400mg/ml

Step #1 - Warm and shake/swirl each of the original vials to ensure even product distribution (this shouldn't be necessary, but it is a precaution).
Step #2 - Use a insulin pin to measure EXACTLY EQUAL amounts and transfer to a fresh vial. If we don't use EXACTLY EQUAL amounts, we could easily screw up the test.
Step #3 - Warm and shake/swirl the resulting mixture.
Step #4 - Send the vial off to SRCS for testing, along with $250.

OK, we get the results back, and let's say they look like this:
A. Testosterone propionate = 45mg/ml
multiply that by FOUR, since only 1/4 of your mix was testosterone propionate.
45mg/ml x 4 = 180mg/ml, but it is supposed to be 200mg/ml,
so that's 10% underdosed.

B. Trenbolone enanthate = 50mg/ml, x4=200mg/ml, dead on

C. Deca = 80mg/ml, x4=320mg/ml, 6.7% overdosed

D. EQ = 75mg/ml, x4=300mg/ml, 25% underdosed

In this hypothetical case, most of the results are acceptable or almost acceptable, but the EQ is highly suspect. But we don't yet go running to the boards proclaiming we've discovered Lab So-and-So has bunk EQ. First, we want to be SURE that we measured your samples right before we sent it off for testing. IF SO, now take our results to a MOD, and say that we think someone independent and of good reputation in the community needs to get the EQ tested, by itself.

This four in one test saves us $150 ($250 instead of $400). If all of them come back good, it is extremely unlikely that the good results are by accident, or as a result of you mixing the products together. 4 for 4 means we're dealing with a damned good lab. So we should let a mod know about those results too.

Now if just 20 members (or groups of members) run one tests like this on different labs, that would go far to accurately establishing reputations. We should coordinate this though, to avoid too much redundancy. A mod could sticky a post with different labs and products, and when he's told someone is running the test, he could check off the products.

Follow-ups on initially poor results would cost extra, sure, but bad results have to be independently verified no matter how the initial suspicion comes about. No matter what, someone else needs to repeat the experiment, to verify the initial results we got. If we accidentally mixed in 3/4 the amount of EQ as compared to the others, then results saying it was 25% under-dosed basically means that it was accurately dosed. That's just careless, and invites horsewhipping for potentially starting a commotion and rumor mongering. EQUAL amounts, means EQUAL amounts.

Board owners and staff will help the community by destroying a lab's reputation, but will (or should anyway) do so *IF AND ONLY IF* it is deserved.

Speaking of which, if a lab produces a product that is 5% underdosed, but 10% overfilled, that isn't the end of the world, it's basically the same as being being perfectly accurately dosed and filled, the label is a bit off, but there is also more product than you thought you paid for.

Again, we all appreciate it when members take the initiative to get tests done. Just be sure to talk to a mod before posting up results. By all means share them, just do it in the proper way, and the truth will get out there in the most effective way.

Lastly, a systematic testing structure like this, something all the boards could cooperate on, it would create an incentive for the shadier labs to have one of their friends post results on a perfectly prepared test sample, even if they actually make shite gear for most customers. Mods should keep an eye out for this. In fact, to prevent this outright, it would be much better for people who want to get tests done to contribute funds for that purpose, so that trustworthy people can be selected to order and test the gear.

And members who contribute to the testing should later be compensated by the labs with an equal dollar amount worth of gear on their next order. That's only fair, since good results help the lab out, and really, them sending out $250 worth of gear doesn't cost them that much at all.

I'd like to see this happen - so who's down with this?

EQ would be overdosed not under...

are there any other labs that do the testing.

Good Post FYI
