See what 4-5" dia hail can do to your car...

this just in...pics my mom just sent me from Manhattan, KS airport...
her account:

they sounded the take cover tornado sirens in Manhattan
even tho there was no tornado in the area.........they sounded it so
people would stay inside so they wouldn't be hurt because of the size of
hail stones....up to between 4-5 inches in diameter coming down at up to
120 miles an hour! We just had a customer come in and say he had a
friend whose car was totaled because of the hail!

these pictures were taken at the Manhattan airport! And it
was raining so hard (along with the hail), in some of the cars, the
rain was actually coming out of the holes caused by the hail stones.
This is the worst I've seen or heard of!

We had that shit two weeks ago. The insurance companies set up in the Walmart parking lots all over town with these huge tents that you drive your car into for appraisal. I may get a new roof, waiting on the adjuster. Ours wasn't that bad though.

i lived through one of those storms 30 yrs ago in colorado....scare the fuckin snot outa ya, that's for sure. sounds like a freight train coming and there ain't no tracks for miles, then all hell breaks loose from the sky. one thing for sure, you better find cover or it'll kill ya. a soft ball size one hit a baby right in the forehead a town over from us and killed the poor little one. i'll never forget what those clouds that bring that hell from the sky look like when they are headed my way.
