Please help doc

Hey doc. It seems every cycle my fingers start to get tingly during the day and at night.... It gets so bad at nights that it wakes me up. Its like my hand falls asleep and my thumb and 2-3 fingers go tingly and numb... Usually when I shake the fuck out of them it goes away.... This only happends when i'm on....

Its like my forearms get too big and restricts the blood flow to my fingers.... I have tryed uping my Potasium as suggested by others, as well as stripping the muscle. (basically massaging my wrist to elbow)

Please help as its really annoying and really starting to piss me off....

Thank you.

If you are asking me to speculate what is causing this I can't give you a good answer because it makes no sense without hard evidence. My recommendation would be to get blood work both on and off your cycle to see WTF is going on. My concern would be an electrolyte imbalance. It isn't clear why this would be localized to your arms and not anywhere else. The potassium thing is possible but taking extra potassium could make the whole thing worse in certain situations. Your stuff is throwing off your bodies metablism. (Everyone will react differently to the same injection) You could try some different gear and see if you get the same problems. If this progressively gets worse my advice would be to stop completely for 6 months and slowly try again. If it spreads to your legs...STOP.

I have lived with it before and once I get off cycle it does go away, but after 3+ weeks of cycling it starts up again, Its happend every cycle so far...

My doc says I have carpol tunnel syndrom...... He doesn't know that it only happends when i'm cycling....

I have tried 3 driffrent "companies" of Test and everyone does the same....

Thank you for your time... Its nice having you here.....

One day we should talk about my wife.....:)

I have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel in the last month as well Preach, I have the same symptoms.

My doctor had blood drawn to test for arthritis (he said inflammation markers would show in bloodwork) which came back negative. The nerve conductivity test is a trip, the gal has a small set of electrodes and shocks the shit out of you, feels like a stun gun. Then the neurologist comes in and sticks a needle in your muscles and makes you flex, starting at the fingers and going up to the shoulder.

I am seeing an orthopedic surgeon who put me on Celebrex 200 1x daily for the inflammation and gave the the usual wrist braces. The braces I put on while I sleep help alot. The ortho said while you sleep everyone folds their wrists and this can aggrivate the condition. You can buy them at walmart, walgreens or local stores that have pharmacies usually. I go back in next week and if this doesn't help I have to get carpal release done on both wrists (outpatient surgery).

Might try wrist braces while you sleep, they are pretty cheap fix if they work. I have no idea about what's causing your situation Preach, but maybe this could help let you sleep anyway.

Thank you....

I have the big brace, with the metal in it as well as a small one thats basically a wrist wrap...

The big one does help but I want to know what the problem is and why it flares up when i'm cycling.... Problem is my doc is a good guy but is against riods and suicide (whole other story, he kicked me out of his office for that one) But I coach his girls in hockey too.... So if he wants to be a right ass I may never coach in minor hockey again.....

OK Doc, I was playing around with some beer on the weekend and it seems some made its way down my throat.... Sooo 3-8 beer later I go back to the hotel and did not have a problem with my wrist that night at all.... So basically if I have beer everynight my wrists will be fine and i'll be fat...

So if I get some blood thinners would this do it, or is there a bigger underlying problem here?

Thank you

It could possibly be a bulging disk putting pressure on the nerves going to your fingers. Have you hurt your back or neck in the past?

Blood thinners wont do a thing. Its not carpal tunnel if it is related to your cycle like clock work. Its not a bulging disc.

.....so its not totally clear what it is. However, lets just say it IS carpal tunnel. Your symptoms aren't bad enough to warrant surgery and conservative therapy would be recommended (ie. braces, advil, rest etc.) Unlikely there is a more serious underlying problem unless your symptoms move up your arms or down your legs. So for now which is worse stopping your cycles for relief or staying on them and having this irritation?

Maybe the CT flairs up when your cycling because youre hitting the gym harder.. If you have insurance and it is Carpel tunnel,, get it taken care of..
Ive had it for years now, used the braces,, everytihng; my left arm is worthless now, I have to use lifting straps for everything, grip strength is shit. Find out if thats what it is and get the surgery. Ive been to therapy all kinds of shit, no doc would say I needed surgery when I had insurance so I did therapy a few times,, get it cut and be done with it.

I had both wrists tested. What a wierd feeling that is to be electricuted in the arm over and over and over again..... Feels like someone kept hitting my funny bone.... Reasults are positive in the right for sure but he said surgery will put you out for about 3 months...... I said no...... yes i'm pigheaded and stupid but no way I can stop lifting for 3+ months.....
