I had one a while back too, didn't do shit except while getting the shot it made my hamstrings knot so badly I lost some flexibility there.

OK, since I've last been on MU, I've had: Three (3) epidurals, facet injections, bilateral rhizotomys (where they burn the sensory nerves so the pain signals don't reach your brain), two (2) nerve blocks at L4 and L5. None of all that has relieved my pain for more than a couple of weeks.

When I sit in the waiting room of my neurosurgeon or pain management doctors office and I see well built men and women being pushed in in wheel chairs, I feel like a complete idiot and just want to leave. The cross they must bear is 100x worse than mine. So sad.

I'm trying to get to a point where I can accept the pain, no matter how bad it is, by trying "mind-over-matter" and it has worked to a certain degree. IDK, I'd like to get back to working out...tried a few times, but I really think it is a pipe-dream at this point.

The last resort is a Spinal Cord Stimulator, it is like a pacemaker, implanted. I don't want to be tethered to that, but there may come a time when I have no other choice:(

Not too well really. On Wed. (NYE) I'm going to have bilateral SI joints injected. All of this really does help a lot, but it's only temporary...that's the problem. I'm still working and have not curtained most of my activities, but I sure have slowed down and my sense of balance is not all that good at times.

After the first, I'm going to have our "handy-man" install another hand rail so that when I walk down the basement, I've got my hands on two (2) rails. Also, I have got to get a hand-rail installed in the shower. I've almost slipped a few times and don't need any broken bones.

Now, I have another health issue going on, but it hasn't been 100% confirmed so I won't bring it up unless it is confirmed. I did a lot of research and found that the pioneer in the type of surgery that I may have to have done is in Tampa, FL. My affliction is fairly uncommon and I want the best because if its not done right, I'll be pretty much screwed for the rest of my life:( Hopefully, the results of the tests I've already taken are a "fluke" and the results of another test I have to have in two (2) weeks will prove those results wrong It probably won't, but I'm trying to keep a stiff upper lip, and all that rot!:)
