AK,

I need more info on the original injury to make a better assesment of your particular situation. I presume the original injury is from weights and not direct trauma. If so the ulnar relocation should be fairly straigforward. The whole thing about arms being to big is bogus. If there was direct injury involved the repair process will not be as simple. Properly done, you should not have any problems EVENTUALLY after you surgery provided you gradually work your way up to the heavy weights. Nonetheless ,I would feel better if you got a second opinion before you let the same person operate again.

Medicine not for everyone

In response to the other comments...
Doesn't surprise me that you broke up with the surgeon. Very few can juggle the workload and social constraints. Have seen MANY relationships fail in medicine but its not that different in business as well. Its the same reasons CEO's are always divorced. I have always put a priority on my health and so for me it came naturally.

M FREAKY works hard too but I would like to see him maintain his workload with a wife. That's the real challenge. :D I like your back window idea man. Let's make it happen.

I'm away on vacation next week. (First in a while) I look forward to answering some questions on my return. I through a couple of thoughts out there on the whole Metformin thing. Let me know what you guys come up with on personal experiences.

was

was lifting and boxing heavy bag working, the ulnar nerve channel got clogged up with scar tissue that i believe they could have just moved and left the nerve alone but they said it needs to be moved. I had both of them moved and then some after scaring moved or taken out of one of them hurt like crazy. I figured they was full of shit on the arms to big stuff because when the doctor said it he could not look my in the eyes kinda told me he was full of it right there. I think what happened is both doctors did not know how to do the operation in the first place and once they got my arm opened chickened out or planed it from the get go because both promised me they would do it the correct way but did not. one said arm was to big the other said that since i was a weight lifter it would make my biceps weak and possibility of the muscle snapping even after its 100% healed under extreme stress. I need one of them done again as its my guitar playing hand and its going numb again and losing muscle size fast, so i need it done soon and fast, I need to know what to do i am in Florida and vista insurance only has so many doctors under there belt here. If the biceps will not snap i will force one of them to do it telling them they cant do the lamer way as its not going to happen 2 times. I will try to find a doctor who has don't it once or twice haha:).

Scar tissue complicates things exponentially. I was the MD on mixedmaritalarts.com for a while and I cant tell you how many times I've seen people in this situation. Given your situation my final recommendation is this....Find a medical university or academic institution (like U of Miami for example). These places have more than one surgeon that does the same operation. That way you can get two opinions in one stop. If you are not in a big city then travel. Ask how many they have done. DONT RUSH too much. Get it done right and as best you can. Only operate on one arm (guitar side) Stories like this piss me off. You should have been counseled better with your first surgery. With scarring and now a re-op your chances of success are against you. Remember that proper rehab is as important as the surgery. Good luck and keep me posted.

Totally Awesome!

BigMD welcome and I'm glad that you are willing to offer your knowledge with this board. I think more doctors should take an interest as you have which is an invaluable resource to a community that has to be so hush, hush or else. Great, great, great.
