high blood preasure

Doc, my bp has always been text book, i had it checked over the last two weeks and it has been 183/95 and 180/90. i am 50 and just started to do test for the first time about three months ago. i am only doing 175-200mgs a week for hrt. i am also doing 20mgs of anavar now, i am stopping that immediately due to bp issues. i have spinal degeneration in my lower back and a couple bulging disc's just above the bad vertebrates. i have been taking 10-30mgs of cyclobenzaprine and 5-15mgs of oxycondone a day depending on the severity of the pain on any given day for the last year or so. do you think it is the combination of all these chemicals that is the issue, or am i overly sensitive to test? i hate to come off since i finally took the plunge and i feel twenty years younger again.
i have also seen a "pain specialist" and will be trying the cortisone shots near the arthritic area's of my spine to get away from the muscle relaxers and pain meds. the opiates are not my thing as i hate the lethargic feeling they give.

Im not DOC, but Im curious if you ever addressed this with your family Doc? Have you checked it many times since this post? Did you happen to check your BP prior to the cycle? Despite those doses being low, it might contribute to your problem. The flexeril and Oxycodone that you are/were on should lower your bloodpressure if anything. If after your hypertension continues, you should really follow up with your Family Doc to determine the cause of it. There are many things that cause a person to become hypertensive. There are 4 primary classes of medications that we use to treat hypertension, so it might simply take one of those to treat you successfully, however it might be an issue that warrants further investigation. Do you have a history of hypertension in your family?

thank you for your post. i do not have a history of high bp, always been text book. i did how ever stop doing cardio last september, i love bicycle riding for my cardio and stopped when the nice weather went away for the year. i just had my physical and blood work came back the usual pretty damn good, except my cholesterol is 228 and the bp was down to 150/90. my doc told me to stop pumping so much iron and get back on the cardio so he does not have to put me on meds for the cholesterol and bp issues. just doing 200 mgs of primo now and did not come off for blood work. i have been riding on my trainer set up in my weight room for the last two weeks, and am down to 230, so dropped 10 lbs since i have been doing 40 min cardio a day. i will step it up to 50 min next week and 60 min the week after. i have not figured out exactly my new resistance program yet, i'm thinkin 3 days, 2 body parts a day at once a week, and i will keep the 1 hr cardio 5 days a week. i go back in july for another round of blood tests, i'm not planning on stopping the hrt doses.
