Deer Pics as requested by 11

These pics were taken with a game cam on our lease. I actually saw the 13-point last year for 30 seconds or so. We had agreed to not take any trophies until the rut was over so they could spread their genes one more time so I didn't shoot him. I wish I would have. I'm moving pastures this year and I may never see him - or anything like him - again.

It will be extremely difficult to allow one of my boys to kill something like this before I shoot something similar. I'd love to see the excitement in their faces but I'd be jealous as shit! I'll most likely allow him to kill it but damn it'd be tough.

awesome pics there. I have killed 3 that I have mounted. All would score b/n 140-160 so I have no problem turning deer down now and doing everything i can to get my son a big one. I cant wait to get back on private land here, or lease some. The land i grew up hunting is no longer available.
Those pics sure would make it easier to get up b4 daylight

Sweet mercy, man. It's delicious. I slice up the back strap (filet mignon) and soak it in apple cider for a day...then BBQ sauce for a day...then smoke it wrapped in bacon. It's absolutely the best tasting meat you will ever eat. AND I paid ~$1 a pound for it. Yummy. It's awesome.

See my Civic vs 8-Point thread and that will change your mind. I was a fucking vigilante this year after I paid $1770 to fix my ride. Filled my tag 'cept for mulies and my son filled his. Now I'm in dire need of another freezer! :D

primarily make deer jerky and summer sausage with ours. Although i do plan on mixing about 70-30 with hamburger. 70%deer. Somewhere in that neighborhood. I am not a huge meat person. Dont like steaks and shit like that. Most meat i eat is in the form of taco's etc so it is mixed with seasoning anyways. Might as well get the benefit of the deer in there.
As for deer steaks, havent had one in awhile. My ex liked em and my boy likes them. I like the jerky and sausage too much

Try some antelope if you ever get the chance. That's some gooooood stuff. I have a hunt set up in WY in September but I'm afraid I won't be able to go. I'm coaching football this year.
