Dating is scary

I'll most likely be going out with a girl I work with who I've been chatting up the last month next Sunday. Quite a strange "date", as we're going to go to my parents house because she wants to see some cicadas(there aren't any in the city, but there's plenty there).

But that whole "when should I kiss her or should I even try to kiss her" thing is downright terrifying. I haven't had to do this in quite some while. I was with the Brownie for 2+ years and with the girl before her for 1.5yrs and anyone else I've fucked around with in the interim has been drunken fucking, so it's never been a concern.

Now here I am with a chick I actually like and I'll be sober and shit. :eek: What's guy to do? I know what I'll do. I'll probably think about it. And then I'll think about it some more. And then I'll keep thinking about it. And then I'll do a quick hug and run. :p

All the signs you need she will give you. Unless she is one of those "impossible to read" types where they flirt for 5 min and then they act stand-offish for 5 min....Hate thoses kinds. Im sure she is a cool chick and when it is all said and done at the end of the night I think you will be able to tell how to handle it.. If she goes to hug you and backs off a bit and it still holding you and looking at you then go for it, but if she is a "quick" hugger and run then dont drag her down and full mount her:D :D

I would say that it's probably a go. I mean, I offered to bring some cicadas in a jar if that would be better for her, but she insisted that we should go on a field trip...to my parents house. That's...well, I don't know what to call it, but it's probably a pretty good indication that she's not exactly scared of me. ;)

Plus, there have been a couple of nights when she and I were the last people to leave the bar. We sat around talking until 6:30 am.

Saturday night, there was some serious eye contact. We were talking and looking directly into each other's eyes, which is a bit disconcerting after a minute because I start to feel like I'm trying to stare her down or something. LOL

And, again, she volunteered to come over to my parents house. I'd say that's probably a sign of some sort of interest.........or maybe she's just friendly and stuff. Which is how my mind works. See, I'd say that it's probably a go, but then I get to doubting my judgement. Mainly because I actually like the girl and if I get snubbed it'll fucking kill, so I'd prefer to be able to say to myself, "yeah, she likes me" without actually testing this theory.

Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone. I'm kind of a pussy. ;)

You remind me of MYSELF bro...All the confidence in the world when it comes to alot of stuff. When girls are involved its a touch and go situation. Once you THINK they like you should be enough but I feel I overthink the situation and that can be detrimental. I think you got a winner bro and if your like me you can feel out people and be able to tell. However there was always a girl in the past who you liked and thought FOR CERTAIN that it was mutual only to be left with your dick in your hand. Makes you kinda gun shy. That said I think your in the clear for sure. Im a thinker and it can get me into trouble once in awhile. Wasnt until I met my current GF that I realized I think to much and just need to go with the flow! Either that or it was her saying "stop over analyzing shit so much"....lol Get er done bro!!

I hated dating - I was the cocky type that the girls liked - but I always attracted the ones that wanted to be flirty for the first half the date - then BOOM the rest is all down hill (hardly talk, no eye contact, etc...)

Honestly, if she tried to have sex with me, I'd probably say no....or so I think now. It's a bit different in the moment. ;) But, really, I wouldn't want to. Not that I don't want to, but I wouldn't want to do so yet.

If I didn't get a kiss on the first date, she didn't get a second. You have to kiss her. Chicks internalize everything. She will be self-conscious thinking something is wrong with her...then not feel comfortable around you...and you will have seen her for the last time.

im with you Grizz. dating sober is a pain in the ass. not how it used to be thats for sure. you can't blame awkwardness or idiocy on being drunk anymore. plus a few drinks and a few lines and i was a regular Casanova in my own eyes.

i havent dated in 4 years. now im single and i feel like a parkinsons patient trying to put a thread into a needle hole.
