Bucks are rutting

Went bowhunting last night for first time The other few times i took my son out so didnt even carry my bow..


Saw a nice probably 160 class buck and 4 or 5 other bucks. I didnt try bringing him into range b/c i am gonna give my son first chance at him this weekend.


If he doesn't get him this weekend it is on and hoping I see him again.


It was cool as hell though watching this other buck running all over the field like a bird dog trying to pick up a does trail. Grunting like crazy. Good shit

You aren't kidding they are rutting! I am staying at this plantation for work travel which the house has been converted into a hotel. Pretty fucking sweet too btw.

Well there's a shit ton of land out front and apple trees etc. I was coming home right at dusk and there were 3-4 smaller bucks and a shit ton of does. I looked behind them and here came this monster...probably 18 inch inside spread but it's G1's had to be 18inches as well....perfectly semetrical. It came down and started chasing the does around and shit..neck all swole up.

Damn I wish I had my bow and permission to hunt that land!

nothing like the rut. A friend was at Hy vee this weekend and a nice 8 pointer was chasing does around in the parking lot lol!

It was about in the freezer tonight! Damn i posted in tshirt thread




Be thinking how it should be shipped. I have never shipped meat. I assume I would freeze it and over night it? U know?

damn thought he had one last night though. I am getting ready to go out by myself. bowhunting is great if u can find time. Unfortunately dont have the time i need to do it right

absolutely.....but it is so good for the mind to get back to nature and feel the primeval instincts of our inner hunter gatherer self. even if i just go out to the few acres of woods behind my house and sit in the treestand i can't believe the peace the sets into my head. listening to the birds and the scurrying of the little creatures is certainly relaxing.

I used to hunt all the time for everything, but now I just deer and turkey hunt. I keep having less and less time as I get older.

saw some nice ones this weekend. Could have shot some does and smaller bucks. Just barely out of range for a couple of bruisers

No time for boy to go til weekend again though. Too friggin busy
