What cardio works for you?

Love it or hate it, cardio exercises are vital. What do you do to burn calories and keep your heart rate up?

because of my bad low back and knees (residual from 7 years as a paratrooper but didn't realize the damage til years later), i prefer to use the recumbant bike for my cardio.....other than that just shortening my rest between sets and using intensity techniques to keep my heart rate up while lifting

First question would be what are you trying to accomplish with your cardio? For me, my only concern is keeping adiopose tissue to a min. during my offseason or slimming down for a contest. In either scenario, the highest my heart rate gets is around 135-140 bpm. I walk on a slight incline on a treadmill, walk around the block or at the park, or hop on an elliptical. That does all I need. Duration is the only other variable with my cardio.

About the same here. I like treadmills on inclines in intervals. I'll do 5 min on 4, 5min on 6, 5min on 8, 5 min on 10...Then back down 8,6,4,0{10min on the last setting} 45min total.

I did this my last show andf it worked great.

On non-lifting days when still having carbs in my diet pre-contest I would do HIT..I enjoyed that and it definitely seemed to keep the metabolism high thoughout the day as I was always starving.

When I'm unable to hit the gym, I enjoy running outside with my kids.. but now, it's getting colder out :(

Cardio bores the living shit outta me....jogging outdoors is the only way I can tolerate it.

You surely don't mean speed of 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 right ? Am I missing something here lol. I do an incline of 21 with a speed of 2.5 and I am dying 10 mins in lol.
