Frequency of changing routines?

Frequency of changing routines?

How frequently should I change my weight lifting routine? Should I constantly change it up to keep my muscles guessing or should I keep at it until I hit a plateau?

Personally, I would say do the exact same thing in the exact same order on the exact same days of the week for no less than 8 weeks in a row.

8 to 12 weeks is about where I like to change things up.
