Water Loading and Depleting????

Question to those that have competed...

When water loading do you use spring, distilled, or tap?
Also do you use crystal light and if so when do you cut that?

This year using tap water with crystal light and after thursday I'll switch over to water on Friday and cut it. Most interested in WHAT you drink leading up to the show.;)

J2m , water is water,,,some people say distilled, some say bottled,,,tap,,,i don't think it matters, theres no sodium in water unless you ad it.

Bottled spring water with crystal light should not be a problem all the way up to the show, you can have coffee if your feeling run down, :cool:

I've always used tap water, then lasix 20mg to get the look I wanted. I never loaded, then restricted in the usual recommended sense. If you use lasix or dyazide, do a trial run or two. Too much and you come in flat and there is no way to fix it before prejudging. The lasix is too strong and the muscles won't rehydrate in the few short hours between waking up and hitting the stage.

Ok cool, thats what I thought but wanted to get some others opinions...Water is water.

SO how do you guys run your diuretics?

I have used 50mg of aldactone along with 40mg of lasix Friday and Saturday with good results without coming in flat.

Here's what I found works for me..it's not very scientific, but it's the best i've found (for me anyway).

T, W, Th - 2 gallons of tap water ED if I can get it down
Friday, before noon I drink usual amounts about 64 oz. About 2 pm drop a 20 mg lasix, then about 6 pm drop another 20 mg lasix.

And that's about it. i am usually G2G the day of the show...once and a while, i would come in a little flat, but it was never enough to alter my placing.

I always load up on potassuim gluconate..(Not sure how much, just a bunch:) ) on T, W, and Th. Supposedly it stops cramping, but I've forgotten to use it at times an I never got any cramps or charlie horses.

Very similar...T/W/TH I'm at 2.5-3 gallons of crystal light.

So you didn't take any lasix on the day of the show just on Fri?

I have taken it AM and then between the day and night show.

Yes, that is correct...40 mg lasix divided dose on Friday only. However, I don't carb load either...I fat load, so, I don't hold on to a lot of water anyway cause of very little sugar in me on fri and sat as I don't take in ANY carbs, just fat and protein.

I know it sounds screwy, but it took me a long time to figure out what worked the best for me. Carb loading did not work at all for me...I was either bloated or flat...there was no inbetween.

BTW....I was never all that concerned with the night show. Naturally, I still wanted to look good, but as you know, its all over after prejudging (usually).

Interesting concept. I like to add in a little fat especially at night on Thurs, Friday, and Saturday morning. Carbs are up around 400g on Fri and well over 500g on Saturday...I GO FUCKING CARB CRAZY until my muscles can't take it...haha...I've come to realize that I have to start carbing on Thurs night to look my best. I'm 1 day out right now and everything looks be going as planned, I'm veiny as fuck and dry as hell after my first lasix and aldactone:D
