Upper left abdomen pain and terrible 24/7 bloat?

Hey guys , I would like to ask for advice and I rarely do this but I feel I need to before I see a doctor, well I am still going to see a doctor I had it already with what I am going thru right now.

Three weeks ago I started having a sharp pain on my upper left abdomen that went thru my lower back it was just painful and came and go for around 5 days , everytime I sat and lean forward it hurt but if I kept a straight back or lie down or apply pressure with my hands on my upper left side it will go away temporarily , that area was also red and tender to the touch and was itchy at times, I thought I had some sort of infection but in a few days it went away but not completely now as I start my day I am bloated even if I eat little food by 7PM I am supper bloated and my stomach is hard as a rock ??? I am not on any drugs , test or anything else so this bloat can not be related to anything else, I still feel pain on my upper left side.

See guys, I can deal with the pain but I hate the bloatness, even in the morning when I wake up I am bloated and not flat like I usually feel, my diet and exercise routine is very good and in fact I am cutting down and was losing weight at a rapid rate from just my diet and exercise and now it seems my weight is increasing, it seems I am not digesting food properly and is remaining there fo r some reason. Stools are normal but only every morning. I have not drank a drop of alcohol ever since either and I must say I used to drink at least a drink 3 or 4 times per week.

When it comes to my girls I bear no expense and I immediately take them to the doctor even though I have no insurance and I pay everything cash but when it comes to myself I guess I am cheap and just wait it out but this bloatness is getting out of control, if any of you know what it could be or if any of you with medical back ground can chime in your thoughts I would very much appreciate it, I am too young to be having health problems I need another 20 years at least to see my girls grow up you know and this is why I setting up an appointment to see a doctor next week.

Isn't this the correct forum? I think it may be Pancreatis, IBS, ulcer or some sort of infection ???

I noticed when I take Mylanta or any anti acid the swelling goes down, weird.

Do you drink alot? If so could be pancreitis.. Feels like there is a spear going through your abdomen. Pancreitis is very common for those who abuse alcohol.. Not insinuating anything,, just been there.

I do like drinking a glass of goose 3 or 4 times weekly but i do not get wasted or party hard like I used which was a lot back in my single days. Ever since I had this problem I have not drank though.
Actually today I have not felt any pain and the bloat diminished, could it be because I drank hafl a bottle of MALOX yesterday? All of the sudden I feel a lot better ???

Carlito my buddy just went threw this same thing a few weeks ago and turned out to be his appendix (sp) had ruptured, Rambo also had the exact same problem. I will call them both tomorrow and find out all the details. You may want to get to the ER and get checked out because they put my bro into emergency surgery soon as he got in the ER. Better safe than sorry when it comes to your health.

Not trying to freak you out, I just know my buddy had a ton of infection set up from putting it off.

I also dont want to bring worry that is not necessary but a friend of mine a couple of years ago had his appendix burst and the infection caused scirrosis of the liver.

Sadly, he was on the list for a liver and when in the hospital for the transplant, they found a lump on his throat and it was cancer, so they couldnt give him the liver. He died a few days later.

I'm sure its nothing major for you but like already said, better safe than sorry.

Carlito did Rambo get a hold of you yet? I gave him a call and he said he would give you a shout. He did tell me the other day that it was his right side that hurt when his appendix ruptured.


Get this checked out ASAP man. It may be serious and it may not be but when it comes to you health then thats nothing to be suborn about.

Carlito, how you been buddy? listen about 5 - 6 weks ago I was bent over in so much damn pain in the lower abb area left side. It started around the belly button, given me the idea just gas then went to right and got 100% stronger. Go in please and get this checked out. An appendix is sometimes hard to diagnose as broken. Look at it this way, if it is just gas, and u go to ER and nothing is wrong, hey you get 12 percocets, well worth the trip to the ER. If the appendix ruptures u only have a small amount of time to get it out and your body cleaned up inside before infections takes over the odds are not in your favor to live. Also, if this pain has been going on for some time now it is not the appendix! If your appendix is bad it usually blowes in two days max. Appendix can not be half way good or bad, it is eaither good or it is not. hope this helps.

I want to first thank you guys ( FTW, Juaneye, Billet, ramboj70, ian smith ) you guys bring a new definition of forum friendship and comradery to a new level, I never expected such concern from some of you guys who have even PMed , emailed me and even called me ( those who got my number ) I must say that all the love has made me feel a lot better, literally !

The bloat went away on sunday finally but I still have a little pain after I eat on my upper side of my abdomen. I do remember when I got this was when I ate fish and I remember it was a bit raw in the middle but I ate it anyway...when the pain started it was pretty bad and the upper side of my abdomen was red , tender and warm when I touched it was clear there was some sort of infection ...then I changed my diet and started eating even cleaner and dropped red meat ; just in the last days I have been eating yogurt 3 or 4 times a day and is when I noticed better improvement.

I will still see the doctor tomorrow, it all should be fine.

I had some sort of stomach infection that caused an ulcer, I forgot the name of the bateria but it caused an Ulcer. The Ulcer healed by itself , basically I went to the doctor when my Ulcer was almost healed. He said it may return and to keep an eye on symptoms and to comeback again if I feel the same symptoms again.
