DL should be included on your list for mass and strength....

Deadlifts have increase my strength a lot, I dont really look forward to them, but on the other hand I like! Just something about pulling that much weight off the floor. But they sap the oxygen out of me leaving me gasping for air-like I just ran a marathon or something.

The kind that requires you consistantly and regularly lift heavy weights for multiple repetitions :D

i don't know how any one can gain size from 3-set of 10-12 reps, unless you are doing 6-7 different exercises at 3 sets 10-12 reps, which would mean you are doing the customary 18-21 sets per muscle group worked to fatigue them. i guess i'm just slow, but i have read this thread a couple times and don't understand what your are asking, unless you have Lee Haney genetics and only need to do 1/3 the work as the rest of us to gain mass.

see thats what I am having trouble rapping my head around also..... How can people grow doing a full body workout... By hitting one muscle for 3 sets of 8 or by hitting it twice a week does that allow it do grow? I have no problem cutting I train 5 days a week hitting every body part major and minor once a week. I just have trouble bulking. I hear that its best to do compound movments heavy weight short reps...

Juaney Look at the 5x5 by bill starr or DC Training they both have small reps large weights. full compound movments...... I don't know man, this shit is complicated........

Personally,, the best gains Ive made have been from eating,, lots of eating while on.. Doesnt have to be shit food,, just lots and lots of chow.. And lifting hard ofcourse.

Ian i'm not sure what your saying.......

Eat alot... Like I said, doesnt have to be shit food.. Learn the difference between good fat and bad fat... Im not a bodybuilder,, not even a powerlifter,,,, but if Im on a cycle and eat 7 or 8 times a day,,, my strength goes through the roof... If Im trying to slim down I get weaker.. Im sure its universal. Feed your muscles. If you put on a litle pudge during the cycle,, you can diet it off afterwords.

Just what Phreezer said...It's really not that hard. You create a surplus of calories to building muscle with, and no it does not take a 2000 cal surplus to do so...Unless your a hard gainer. Train hard and heavy...but also train smart.

If I can't lift something at least 5-6 times by myself then I don't even kid myself...It's simply to heavy for me.

Eat Good,Train Good, Rest Good and leave your ego at the door and you'll be making awesome gains man.

Good Luck.

This year so far has been the owrkst for consistency thou. As it seems I get sick every other month..... Its bullshit......
