question for the doc

hey doc...my wife was just perscribedPROPRANOLOL 10MG, for performance anxiety.
shes a supervisor at work,and when she gets into conflict,she cries for no reason.
her doctor perscribed this perticuler drug. but when she takes it.......she feels funny. all weird like.
she actually stopped taking it.
but i was wondering if you had any feed back on this item?

Sure. This is a beta blocker which acts on your nervous system. This is a low dose and at this amount serves to put the nerves at ease. There are a lot of side effects with this class of meds. (depression, anxiety, impotence [reversible] and blood surgar changes. This is probably why your wife feels weird due to some minor sugar changes. Stopping the drug is a good thing. there are plenty of other drugs out there that can help her without these side effects.
