Partial Tricep Rupture

Well, went to the Dr. about my left arm. It seems my left tricep has a partial rupture in it.

Over the last week or so, when I turn my arm a certain way, I get a sharp burning pain that makes me wince and stop whatever I'm doing for a minute or so. I haven't been to the gym since that ice storm we had a few weeks ago because I've been working overtime payin for Christmas and whatnot. So I'm positive I didn't injure my arm in the gym.

My G.P. gave me some office samples (gotta love free :) ) of Celebrex 200mg to take for 9 days once daily, then come back in to see if it is healing. If its not, then I gotta do an MRI and see if there is more damage than just the muscle.

My question is, how the hell can I rupture it and not know? I have torn both of my calves and a hamstring previously and I knew exactly when and how I did it in each instance. I cannot remember any particular incident with my left arm at all. I just don't see how I can partially rupture a muscle and not know it? I'm 35, and in good shape I think. Also do you think the supplement Cissus Quadrangulus (sp?) would help at all for this?

Supplement wont do much. You can break a bone without knowing sometimes. All depends on the location. I would personally do what you have already done. Take a break and then use some anti inflammtories. I would try chondroitin sulfate instead. The research on this substance is the best when it comes to joint/cartilage healing. If you are still baffled the MRI is the ultimate judge. In fact, if you are not better by this point I would recommend it strongly.
