I make sure I eat the night before..usually right before bed. Then wake up and drink a small protein drink.

Personally I can't function right if I don't eat breakfast.
To answere your question. MY advise you to divide your breakfast calorie allotment so you have something light, primarily a carbohydrate that will fuel your body for exercise, 100 to 200 calories, mostly carbohydrates with a little protein and fat, such as our Fruit and Yogurt Shake. That is enough to see you through a workout, which lasts up to an hour. Believe me on this part non-salted Almonds does the trick for me right before work out.
Now skipping breakfast before a workout will not help you burn significantly more fat, but it will potentially cause you to burn fewer calories because you may get tired sooner or may not be able to train at your usual intensity. If you cut your workout short in its duration or intensity, you will be burning off fewer calories, including fewer calories from fat. Another thing to consider is that by skipping breakfast when you are hungry, and then working out, you can become so hungry that you respond by over consuming calories. This ends up working against your goal to get leaner.

I think it really depends on what your goals are.

Leaning out a bit: Then higher reps, lower weights fast pace on an empty stomach. PWO Shake, Shower and then a serving of cream of rice and some eggs.

Building up: Lower reps, higher weights and slower pace with a serving of cream of rice and some eggs in you beforehand. PWO shake.

Working out in the morning is great, it really does give you that energy boost that people talk about the whole day.

For most of my life, I always worked out after work (5pm). I was definitely not a morning workout person at all. A few years ago, when I was getting ready for a show, a certain Mr. Olympia (60+, natty) started extolling the virtues of morning workouts,. He use to say, "Nothing like it, you're dry from the night before and rested up...try it, you'll like it." Well I did. It took me about two (2) weeks to get in the groove, but once I was there, morning workouts (on an empty stomach) were def the trick for leaning out for doing a show.

I went back to evening workouts after the show, but on the weekends I sometimes do a morning workout.

There is good advice for you in this thread from the other bro's.

My job is hot in the summer and not so bad in the winter....this summer I think I'm gonna lift in the mornings because I'm just to drained in the evening.

I rotate shift every week, my workouts are all over the clock. If I didn't eat at least a little before my workout I can't make it through, I run out of energy way too soon.

I do my gym training in the evenings right after I get home from work but for training strongman implements. I do that AM saturday morning. As soon as I wake up I drink a glass of milk and crack open a gatoraide and get to work. As soon as I'm done I drink a protein shake or eat a large heavy protein based meal..

But my typical day looks like this..

7:00am Two scoops Muscle Milk and 12 oz of skim milk

10:30 some kind of snack usually something crappy like pop tarts and a glass of milk.

12:30 Lunch usually atleast 6-8 oz of beef or chicken combined with a side like chips or cheese puffs or some such thing.

At 4:30-5:00pm depending on what time I get home from work I'll eat something like a peanut butter sandwhich and a glass of milk or sometimes a can of soda.

Then I work out immediatly right after and I'll then drink two scoops muscle milk with 12oz skim milk.

Then about 7:00pm I'll eat dinner. Who knows, sometimes steak, sometimes chicken, sometimes fish... It will always be 60% meat whatever it is.

Then around 11:00pm I'll drink a glass of el cheapo walmart "Xtreme" protein and maybe a lunchables or maybe a few leftovers something similar and then go to sleep and get up and do it all over again..

through the day I'll snack on stuff a little ranging from Raisins and bannanas to grahm crackers or sometimes I'll take two pieces of salami and put a slice of cheese between them and eat them as a snack... OHHH.. and something else I really like. Is that immitation crab meat. I love that shit and will eat two or three packs of it a week. Usually just right out of the package.. good stuff!

Hmmm... My diet kind of suchs huh?
