Huge Pain! Help!

Hey guys -

I have a serious problem. It is freakin' me out. About 2 weeks ago, I was benching (nothing too heavy or anything, about 395-405) and I heard a pop in my wrist, nothing to worry about - but the next day it bugged me on back...so I was like WTF?

Well fast forward 2 weeks (today) and I can barely lift anything with this wrist...it kills. Now, once I get past a certain point in my lifts, I'm fine...it doesn't hurt anymore...it's only at certain angles...weird!

What do you think it is? I mean it hurts at the angle to wipe my ass, so what the hell is this? HELP ME GUYS? Anyone had this...I know it's not broken or anything, but a nerve or what?

i had my wrist pop on me one morning doing cardio, playing racquetball, and that was approximately 3 months ago... to this day it still hurts, and i still have to use wrist wraps anytime i do anything that puts a strain on my wrist... :(

That sux man,,, Ive never had problems w/ the wrist but had something go bad wrong once w/ my forearm.
At first i thought it was muscle pull but it took alomst 6 months to heal back 100%.

If i was you i would go light and if the pain was still there you might wana take a few weeks off if its as bad as it sounds.

I def. don't wanna take time off or go lightly - I am trying to train for my first show in Feb. 08. This is no good...I don't like this. It hurts!

Your going to hate my answer....You might want to stay off of it lifting wise for a few weeks to let it somewhat heal. Its tough to do but maybe give it some healing time and then if its not better, hit the doc up if you dont want to go sooner.

Your right - answer isn't what I wanted at all...however, this might give me time to cut more...I was hoping to cut in a few weeks/month - but maybe no lift and just do cardio?

Also, this is happening with me coming off cycle as well...just in case that matters.

i agree with corodo....give it some rest. i had a shoulder problem once and skipped a few shoulder work outs and stopped doing heavet shoulder presses.

that sucks. Wrists can take forever. I have a bad wrist from over a year ago that i reaggravate every single day at work. Rest would be the only thing to cure it. Pro athletes have surgery on little tears in their fingers. We dont have that luxury. Ice it and focus on cardio for a couple of weeks.
ALso, maybe try DB's and work with weights you can handle 15 times. Barbells can stress the wrist a little more.

One more note. When it quits hurting, u arent out of the woods. It probably healed with scar tissue and will be a weak link. You will have to start training smarter

ease up, maybe use a machine for couple wks and dont wrap your thumb around bar/handle, keep it beside your index finger this will put the pressure on the butt of your hand and not your wrist......................11

I found out that this helped out ALOT! I was surprised. When I lifted bench, I used the butt of the palm and not much else...and it only really hurt getting the bar off the pegs ;) Sweet - but I do think that I will go a little lighter and do some cardio now that it hurts

Mercy, if I took time off for every injury I would never be in the gym. Just have to ignore the pain. Try different grips (as suggested), wrist wraps, NSAIDS, etc.

That's what I am hoping will happen as well...just push through it - but when it hurts to wipe your ass - what are you really getting outta your workouts lol ;)
