Help with diet

As most of you already know I just getting back at it and I'm trying to lose the fat belly and keep the muscle. I'm a creature of habit, I don't mind eating the same thing all week and then changing to something the following and then come back to the same thing. I hate oatmeal so please don't suggest it. I from the south we like Grits and I know it's not the same. I don't eat breakfast due to time in the am. I also don't like fish. I can eat canned tuna but don't like it very much. Here's what I've been doing:

Breakfast (it's hard for me to eat anything in the am)
Muscle Milk shake (06:45)

Lunch (11:00-12:30)
2 grilled chicken breast or 2 grilled pork chops
1 whole sweet potato or 3 or 4 red potatoes

Mid afternoon (2:00 3:00)
Muscle Milk shake

Training (5:45 -7:15)
Mass Recovery on the way home

Dinner (7:45-8:00)
1 grilled chicken breast or 1 grilled pork chop
1/2 sweet potato or 3 or red potatoes

My thoughts were do this this for the next month or so then change up with some other foods. I eat grilled chicken all the time and lean steak anywhere from 8 to 12 oz per meal. I eat aspahragas (sp), green beans ,and blackbeans, brown rice. I get most of my receipes fro a diabetic cookbook. Thanks

Sorry most the guys no the deal from outlaw. I was in a accident broken femor in 5 places also had knee surgey. I'm trying to get back into it and lose the fat and keep as much muscle as possible. I'm trying to get back in the firetruck first but I'm getting on stage this time next year.I will adjust diet later on. I just want to make sure what I'm doing now in enough to maintain the muscle but still low enough to lose the extra pounds from sitting on my butt for the last year. I wil be getting back to 5 meals a day but right now it's just not possible with work the way it is. I'm 6' 245lb 25-28% right now. I do eat bannanns in thE am as well with my shake. Thanks

First off, if you are trying to lose fat, you have to ditch that Muscle Milk. Replace it with a good protein like Cytosport Whey or ISS Research Whey. I would try to get more of my cals from food and not rely as much on the shakes - force yourself to eat eggwhites and oatmeal for breakfast (you can do it and you will probably even learn to like it - I did), do the shake mid-morning. Your lunch and dinner looks okay for what you are trying to accomplish. Grilled chicken breasts, lean red meat, tuna, salmon, tilapia, turkey - tons of choices for meats, even if you're not crazy about some of the stuff you have to decide how bad you want to lean up. Stick to the unprocessed carbs (sweet potatoes, rice, black beans) and green veggies, and try to take in the most caloric carbs before 5 or 6 pm.

I had the Muscle Milk left from the last Bulker was just trying use it up. I have other protien. It taste like shit but it works. Oatmeal :( I know, but I just don't like it, I guess I'll give it a try again. Fish is out of the question, I can't eat it. I've tried all kinds but I get sick from eating it. I will puke I can get about a bite or two in but then the stomach starts to reject it and it comes back up. It's hard getting started back and trying to jump back into to it being a complete hardass about everthing. Diet is always the hardest for me. Training is on point, good kind of pain. I'm sore as hell and I love it. I need to stop eating after about 6pm. Thanks. I know the diet needs a lot of work in the next month. I will get back on point and post again in a month my new diet plan. Thanks.

if you want to get the body you want you have to do somethings that maybe you dont like to do....
oatmeal is easy low glycemic whole grain food...
grits are not.
you can eat even later in the evening if you are just eating clean- lean meat and veggies.
BTW where are the veggies?
you need some to keep the body flowing. energy will be up...

do you want to maintain the weight but loose the fat, or do you want to loose both weight and fat?
