healthy amount of weight that can be lost a week?

I'm going to say probably what everyone else will say...If you are just talking about bf than right around 2lbs a wk will be healthiest. However if you are dropping other things like water and playing with carbs then that will affect the amount of weight loss per week.

Just for a normal weight loss program I would say 2-3 lbs is safe, but it could fluctuate from week to week depending on water and things like that. Just remember to try and weigh yourself at the same time of day week to week if you are doing that. I can fluctuate 6-7 lbs in a day. So if you weigh yourself every Sat morning and then the next week at night your numbers will not be where they really are or reflect proper weight loss.

its for my friend she a girl but she has been losing about 5-8 lbs a week

doesnt seem healthy if she wants to keep the wieght off to me

That doesn't sound healthy at all...She's probably burning fat along with alot of muscle...That sucks because when she stops losing the weight her body will have a lot less muscle which is used to burn fat while sitting doing nothing. She will gain plenty of fat back and look worse than she started potentially.

the only way a girl will lose that much weight is if she is practically starving herself. i've seen it many times with my girlfriend's friends doing it. they will lose like 20lbs in a month. then when they try to eat normally they gain double the weight back just as quick.

i see that crap happening alot in my gym. i for the life of me cant seem to get people to understand that they need to eat 5-6 small meals a say to keep the "furnace burning"...

it is absolutely unbelievable... :(

Depends. It's not a set formula. If you are talking about a person that is obese than 5 - 10 pounds a week might not be unreasonable as the weight is just begging to come off. That's why it becomes harder to lose weight as you reach your target size. When you have it to lose, you can lose it...

I have dropped as much as 12 betwen water and fat last 7 days before a show . I have also experienced many times to drop 2-3 lbs in 24 hrs when I low carb for 2 days then carb load 1 day.. . I have woken up and could not believe my eyes..lmao//it works for me.
