Metoformin is glucophage, used by low-level diabetics as a (weaker) substitute for insulin. I have heard of some people using glucophage pre-contest. It has repartioning qualitites.

I've used it many times. I have glucophage XR (extended release), which I believed is dosed @ 500mg. I take one tab twice a day. I have diabetes in my family and find glucophage is very helpful in the offseason to keep my blood sugars from going out of control, from all the sugar and shit I eat. I'll usually take a dose with breakfast and another with dinner.

I am a NPC National competitor prepping for the 2007 NPC Collegiate Nationals and use glucophage in a different way. I take a tablet before fasted morning cardio, which really drops my blood sugar (not dangerously though) and seems to help with lypolysis. I also take a tablet right before bed to lower my sugar again, which theoretically should help make the next day's morning cardio more productive. Also consider I am intaking a moderate amount of simple sugars through the day (I diet on Low-fat/high card/moderate protein) and when the 10 week out mark hits for my show I will eliminate all simple sugars and discontinue glucophage and replace it with Chromium P. and Cinnamon caps.

I've heard glucophage is good in conjunction with slin, but never tried it.

Hope this helps!

Any of the pills (glucophage, Metformin, glyburide etc.) work on a longer term basis and provide less tight control of blood glucose which is why they are used in type II diabetics. Tighter control comes from insulin and there are many different forms available now days (long lasting, short acting, mid range etc.). The best control can be achieved with a combination of pills and insulin. These are some basics to keep in mind. Also remember that insulin will store fat. So a fatty meal and insulin could build fat stores.

i know strongarm is using them.

i ordered some from genxxl, still waiting.... i plan on taking one 850mg tablet after each meal. supposedly it is supposed to give similar results as slin, but without the danger of going hypo and also without fat gain. in fact i've read that its quite effective at helping mobilize fat.

yeah im using it, i was popping 1 for breakfast, lucnh and dinner at 500mgs a dose. but it makes me feel tired. so im sticking to pre & post work and 1 with my dinner. the only sides ive have is GAS!!!. which sux, smells like something crawled up my ass and died. and in the begin i was gettgin the runs, but that stopped. the fullness it gives to my muscle is awesome. not as much as real deal slin but the combo should be amazing.i cant find too much on this stuff over the web, im looking for maybe a " proper" way to use it for max gains.

i also heard that some use it during a cutter .

If you are tired you may be getting hypoglycemic. Good idea in changing it up. Pill messes with GI absorption so that explains the stink. It's real good for breaking up groups at cocktail parties though.

an update for yous. ive up my carbs well over 100grams while taking 500mgs of this stuff and it lowers my gas. after a few days of taking it the gas comes back a little, but thne i lower the dose to 250mgs. So playing around with it helps, more carbs and lesser of a dose helps alot.
