1.5wks out of first show

185lbs

Need to get to 176lbs...Now I dropped water for these pics, didn't run any diuretics but I'm a little worried that I will not make my weight...Please give me advice as to how I can get down to 176lbs without losing muscle. Thanks

J2 with 5% Bf it will be very difficult dropping to 176lb take your time work on it slowly, other then that you look very well rounded I could truly see your different in the arms and delt from last show,,,,

I'm most happy with my abs and legs...They were and are lagging IMO but not like they used to...These pics don't do my vascularity justice, the flash kills all that shit...I know it's going to be hard but I think the diuretics will help me drop to 178-180ish....I need to drop another few lbs...What are your thoughts of dropping my calories to around 1800 the last week? and then 2 days before the show keep my protein around 180g and just do normal carbing up? I'm thinking about not eating much 36hrs before weigh in...Do you think I will look flat? I may only carb up for 2 days also, During this trial run of carbing up for 3 days, I noticed that I looked fuller and better on the 2nd day opposed to the third...I know my post is bouncing around and may not make sense but I'm just trying to put a game plan together for the next 1.5wks.

i think you look great where you are at ,,,,,but
Are you sodium loading? or will you be
i think the diretics should make you piss out alot of water which will make you look harder.

5 percent is fine, you might lose a little more before the show
i would not change the carb load, you want to be full on stage,

i have heard stories of guys doing too much cardio before a show and coming up really flat......keep that in mind

Yes but my problem is that I may be 2 or 3 lbs over my desired weight class...So I may need to change things up the last wk to get to my desired MW class.

are you weighing yourself first thing in the morning after a piss and before you eat?

These pics were taken today when I did my trial run for my show...So I was dehydrated but didn't run any diuretics and I came out at 185lbs. THat's why I think that with diuretics I will get to 178-180 but I don't think I will drop to 176...So I'm trying to get ideas that will work in this last wk and a half and especially the last 36hrs before weigh in on Saturday morning.

Ok, but i reccommend weighing yourself in the morning after a piss and before food or water,,,,,,,,this is your true weight.Do that and you know what your working with.

I'd hit that cardio up in the next couple days, how much cardio you doing ? i would split it so your not wasting away AM then PM

no way would i want to be sweating out muscle and carb loading at the same time

or through diet , whats the protein carb and fat grams?

Cardio will be increased to 45mins a day up until 6 days out and then no more.

I will do some light cardio in the morning as well and do my 45 mins at night.

J2m i think , you may get the 4lbs off with the cardio being high minutes plus teh diretics ,
have you tried a 2,1 ratio on cardio, for example 2 fast minutes, 1 slow then 2,fast , 1 slow on the eliptical, this burns fat very effectively try a half hour or so ,i am using this method now and it works for me

but you could also slice down your protien and your carbs in the next couple days and diet harder
if your at 185

maybe, up to you... slightly drop protiens and carbs for a couple days
Meal 1: 1.5 whey 2 rice cakes instead of three
and so on and so forth,,,,this might be the extra calories your not needing or your body isnt using,,,,by no means am i an expert , but diet seems to be high in protein, if your 185 , you body can produce on 185-200 grams of protein
and less carbs....

This looks like what I'll probably be doing to cut cals.

I don't know, the wife seems interested in making plans for God knows what now. I keep threatening to go even if I have to hobble out there :eek:

My leg is pretty much better now, I just lost two of the four weeks I had to get ready.

Have you been to this one before? Do you know how many competitors they get?
Never been to the lehigh but I think the way they positioned 3 contests in a row out in this area it will be a huge turnout, not to mention the olympia qualifier bringing more spectating fans...Should be a good show for competitors as well as fans.

J2M - By far the best conditioning you have put out! Very immpressive and your wheels have come up playa, Be proud! Respectfully Wylie..

Im a bit confused on your concern for making weight, 1.5 wks out plus your gonna drop 7-9lbs of water! I'll hit you up this evening and see if I can help you along. Once again, This is the best you have ever looked..;)
